Foundation - Introduction

The Foundation for Criminal Justice preserves and promotes the core values of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the American criminal justice system. With the Foundation’s support, in the last several years, NACDL has been able to expand programs, including:

  • Hiring a National Security Coordinator;
  • Supporting major public policy research projects: the Grand Jury Reform Study (forthcoming), the Problem-Solving Courts Task Force Report, the Misdemeanor Courts Study and the Florida Misdemeanor Courts Study;
  • Establishing a Resource Counsel position and creating the Resource Center to provide practice support and access to training to the many small and solo practitioners across the country.
  • Hosting educational events on criminal justice policies, such as an event to discuss the impact of Padilla v. Kentucky on the future of the defense function.

Please check back often for more details on the work of the Foundation for Criminal Justice. We hope you will join us in supporting the FCJ and the amazing work it is able to do, together with NACDL, to ensure due process and equal justice for all.
